How do you learn a city when you arrived last month and every street name is new?
The question
Chicago has an unusually learnable structure: a numbered grid anchored at State and Madison, a lakefront that always tells you which way is east, and neighborhoods with strong identities. Fieldhouse teaches that structure to newcomers.
What it is
A set of short, game-like lessons on landmarks, history, the grid and the neighborhoods, in plain English, shaped by time spent as an ESL teacher’s assistant at RefugeeOne.
